The tag was misplaced on this one but I think it was in a large box of cuttings from GardenGuyKin - thanks, Kin.
This was the first day open and was taken at dusk.

Excitement!!! First blooms of 2007
Oooohhh
Beautiful Louise!! Sure happy to see you have some blooms and hopefully enjoying a heavenly fragrance!!
That could possibly be Ecuador Pink, if it get some recurve on it that is most likely what it is.
I just had some blooming going on this week and then we hit a record high in the triple digits!! I had a lot of bud drop from that heat.
I hope to post some photos before long and get back into the brug forum swing of things.
Enjoy your beauties!!!
-Kin
It looks a lot like my Eternity
It's beautiful!
It is very pretty! And I can totally understand your excitement!!
Whatever it is, it's beautiful!
beautiful.. great color and pictures..
To all,
Thanks for all the wonderful comments. And, yes, it's nice to see Kin back on the forum!
I'm waiting to see if the color changes any or the skirts curl a bit. If so, I'll post another picture. There are lots of other buds on the plant.
I also have buds on 'Golden Lady' (sent to me by Gaylams on DG).
The excitement builds around here each day! It's time for my 1 1/2 year obsession with these plants to bear blooms. Kidding aside, I thank God each day for all the beauty he has given us to enjoy - and maybe this fall, I can send cuttings to others who may want to grow them.
Louise
Hey Lou! 'Nice to see my old hometown friend again! (We both grew up in Texarkana and met a year and a half ago here on DG.) I'm so glad you are enjoying your brugs. Now you know about the addiction I was telling you about???? LOL
'Hope you are well and it's sounds as though you are!
Kay
Beautiful!
Hey Louise
How are you. Beautiful bloom and it was good to see you on here. My brugs are blooming but not Teria that you gave me. I have had a hard time making her grow but maybe she is slow.
Our you coming to the the East Tx,'s Round Up this year? I would love to see you again.
Joan
Pretty bloom. I like the color.
Beautiful color and form whatever its name is. Love the upright tendrils!

This brug is one of three that are in pots. The rest are in the ground. It had wilted big-time last night. I watered it very well. This morning, it had revived but the blooms suffered a bit. It's apparent in the picture included here.
After returning from errands at noon today, both blooms were wilted again. The pot is a 3 or 4 gallon one. I think I'll find a place in the ground for my brugs now.
The color has deepened a bit but maybe because of the water situation.
Louise
Louise, It looks like it has been getting to much sun. If it is in a pot then see if you can move it to the shade. It sounds like the pot should be OK. Hope that helps because it is a named one so some one here will know for sure.
Joan
At least your getting blooms! The blooms will last longer when it's cool this Fall. Beautiful picture!
I'm seriously thinking of bringing it in the house for now and putting it back out sometime in September.
There are 2 or 3 small 3 inch buds forming now and I don't want the heat to cause them to drop. I think Kin was right about the color having a little salmon in the mostly pink. It's not a clear bright pink, especially after being open a few days.
This brug 'learning curve' is a bit painful. I have to remember that mistakes will happen but help is as near as DG.
Louise
WOW that one is a beauty.
Lavina
A true beauty it is!

When I bring mine indoors, they always drop all the buds.. just too much of a change in temp I think.. Good Luck!
I've been putting a mister on the ones that have buds in the heat of the day.. so far so good... they sure got green!!
The plant now has 8 buds and two of them are on the verge of opening. This is my first brug to have that many blooms and I am sooooo excited to get this far without hail or rain damage. We have had a scourge of those green hopping things that look like grasshoppers but are not. And they like to eat brugs. I've
dusted with seven dust and it helped a little.
I'll post a picture tomorrow and for sure, when the buds open. I love the color and the form. Pot and all, the plant is about 5 1/2 feet tall.
ZZs - I took your advice and decided to not bring it in the house. Thanks,
Louise
eeeew! Are those green hopping things able to fly? I found a couple on my brugs cause there were some new holes that were huge and I didn't know who was doing it... I used a litter picker upper to pick it off my brugs.. I get so freaked out cause they are so big and they move so slow.. LOL
Oh yes! Do post pics!!! My life is so GREEN right now, any pics of buds or blooms is a moral booster! I'm happy for you.
Here is another one that I am watching closely. It's name is 'Flamenco' - a gift from bigal who attended the East Texas RoundUp in Tyler last fall. I found a picture of it in the plant files. It is some kind of pink and I'm hoping it is a very pretty one in real life.
I'll post more pictures of it's progress as time goes on!

Gorgeous, Louise! Yu'all so fortunate to be living in brug country to be able to share.
:) Donna
Thanks, Donna-
The RU was so much fun - getting to meet DGers and I came home with three new brugs that I didn't have. Two were in pots and one was a cutting. If things go as planned, I'll go again this year.
I fed the brug with all the buds some SchultzBloom 10-60-10 fertilizer. They still haven't started to open yet.
Anxiously waiting!!!!!!
Louise
I feel like I've hit the jackpot!!!! Four of the eight pink blooms have barely opened and I can see the skirt and tendrils which are still green in color. They will be fully open some time tomorrow and I will post a beautiful picture, I'm sure!!!!!!!
My Golden Lady has one bloom that is half-opened today and is double. I'll post it's picture also.
My 17 month addiction is finally rewarding me!
Louise
Here is the beginning of the opening of the 8 buds now on the plant.
I think it is beautiful. It's the most I've had to open at one time so far.
(I have changed internet services and the pictures look blurred in the post but they are clear in the opened version. I may not have the acceleration rate set correctly yet.)

It looks like my picture above was cropped. I hope it shows up full size when opened. Here is another close up of one of the blooms.
It's amazing - how - day before yesterday they were lime green, yesterday they were yellow, then they were white before turning pink.

MAN! That's a gorgeous flower! Fabulous colour!
OOOOHHH!!! I want a brug like that! Does someone have a spare cutting, or two, or put me on the top of your list when you do cuttings??? PLEASE, Please, please?!?!?!
Lusting after your brugs...
Jan
Louise what a color!! Luv it!!!
:) Donna
You must be in heaven! Such a beautiful color! Congratulations!
I'm so glad that many of you love it as much as I do. I'm taking my friends who visit for a golf cart ride around to have a close-up look at them.
There are four blooms colored up today and they are really drinking the water. We have a steady wind today also that it almost blowing them over. I must find a
place put them in the ground. I think I remember that Kell on DG leaves them in the pot and buries the pot half way down (after cutting holes in the sides). That may solve the wind problem. Now ---- if I could justs get a drip system set up, I wouldn't have to water twice a day!
