deykei racing

I know that this is a relatively slow grower, but there is slooow and slooooooooow, so how do I make mine go slooow, not slooooooooow?

Also does anyone know if there are differences in leaf or growth "speed" between Carol's (assuming she has only one clone on her website) and David Liddle's 1185?

Dirty leaf, but here's a pic of the oldest leaf on my rooted cutting.

Actually...I think that H. deykei starts out slowly and then picks up speed. I also find it picks up a bit of speed if given something to climb. I had a small one hanging outside....it found a tree and off it went!!! It is way up there 2 years later...

oh, that's good to know. I just saw your old thread about blooms on deykei and it sounded like it would be slooooow.

Still, mine is sloooooooooooooow. I may try moving it :D
There's no growth on it yet that could possibly climb....

I had one for 2 years with only 2 leaves. I just kept watering it and kept it in good light, and one fine spring day...it sprouted 2 NEW leaves. Then it sent up a long shoot and now 2 years later it is a nice full plant with lots of new growth. It is a slow grower as compared to some, but now that it is big, I am glad it is, as I don't want to have to move it up into a bigger pot or trim it like I do so many of the ramped growers.

Keyring...in the GH mine grow in rather bright indirect light....good watering/humidity. However, the H. deykei that 'went bush' was in the shade... go figger!!!

It must be one of those ones that for a long time sneakily, quietly works on it's root system , doing absolutely nothing above ground, and then....BAM! I have a few myself. They test your patience, but it really feels good when they finally start growing.
