Nice Kyle,
I love the white center and veins too, nice golden yellow.
Does it fade and is it a 2 day flower?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Now that color is really something!!

I am so glad you saved some. I remember what a heart break that was.

two to three day flower and doesn't fade
in cool weather it has a very pale pink blush to the white areas

I really like this one, Kyle!

Very Pretty
I have resisted getting into Hibis due to the massive bug infestations when I bring them in.
Id love to do some from seed but how do you deal with all the wolly boogers and aphids?

(Zone 11)

Malestrom, If I lived up by you, I would have a yard full of hardy hibiscus and rose of sharon. They grow great up there, and you don't have to bring them inside for the winter. They don't grow nearly as well down here, at least not for me..

If you would like to try your hand at tropicals from seed,
The American Hibiscus Society maintains the Seed Bank, where seeds are solicited from members to be distributed to anyone wishing to grow new varieties from seed.

They do start blooming in about 10-12 months, less time than plumeria. :~)

Beautiful flower, Kyle. I love the color and especially that white eye. Thank goodness you were able to salvage it :-)

Gee Dave, I may try a few too. Thanks for the link. I have tried crossing them myself but always get too sidetracked to follow thru.

Thanks Ardesia
Im a handyman and will surely build one of these.
You can get worms at a whosale bait store online like http://www.wormman.com/pd_red.cfm
Search around for better prices if you like
I think this is quite reasonable

I forgot to mention:
A phone call to a worm farm may produce a good cheap supply of castings

Would you believe, because I live on the coast, there are no worm farms! The fisherman around here use readily available shrimp and minnows for bait. Bummer.
