A "Present" From My Cats!

(Zone 1)

Had to go to Wal-Mart today to get Cat Food .... and this was on the way to the Cat Food Isle!

It's one of those Exotic Angel plants labeled: Columnea microphylla variegata, which must be wrong as I do not see any variegation whatsoever! Anyway, I loved the look and had to get it. I'll just say its a gift from the" Kitters" for buying them food .... yeah right!

WOW...nice score...love the yellow flowers!!!!

Lynn that's what I always say - 'it was on the way'. I always take the long detour through the store.

Yep ... I have hubby trained, when I go with him to Home Depot or Lowes he now parks at then end by the Garden Center and I wander that area while he is getting hardware or whatever inside the store! He always knows where to find me!

That looks REALLY nice. Now I've gotta ask, though, did you have to go to the other side of the store before that plant was "on the way" to the cat food isle??? lol jk

(Zone 1)

Yep .... I've never seen one anywhere around here .... they had 4 and they were priced at $9.43 .... I might just have to go back and buy another one. Our Home Depot's and Lowes and also Target's sell the Exotic Angel Plants, but Wal-Mart seems to be the cheapest. Those little small pots of house plants at HD are $2.49 ea and at Wal-Mart they are $1.94 .... same exotic angel plants! The size hanging basket I got at WM sells for $11.99 at HD. I love bargains and will gladly save $2.50 by shopping at WM.

hee hee CJ .... Nope .... I ALWAYS park down at the end where the garden center is because it's right by the street I go out to heading home .... and this particular Wal-Mart ... the pet food is just inside the Garden Center! So, see ... I wasn't really fibbing, it was right on the way to the cat food! :)

Gorgeous new plant!

DH will usually drop me off by the garden center too, but sometimes we're supposed to be in a hurry.... the last time we were running a quick errand (for hose fittings), he dropped me in front and said, "I'll meet you back by the garden hose... *hard look in the direction of the garden center and then back at me*.... by the garden hose!"

(Zone 1)

hee hee .... I understand totally, Critter! I would probably go get a garden hose and carry it around the garden center with me just so I could say .... "well, I am by the garden hose"!!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

DH said he'd give you a pass for that... once! LOL Very clever.

:) I have my moments .... not often, but sometimes!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

That is really a steal, Lin................I have seen them at Gill's in CC but they want over 30.00 for each one.......not as big as yours........

Emporia, KS(Zone 5b)

I need to use that bit about the garden hose next time we go. I'll let you know if it works. lol ; )

nice plant.Love the yellow flowers

The yellow flowers are what caught my attention! I never see Columnea's sold around here so had to get one! Hope I can keep it alive. I think I'm gonna take some cuttings to see if I can root them! Maybe stick some in a terrarium and pot some up.
