Wow! My CG is very yellow, that's a beaut!

Emory, TX(Zone 8a)

I wondered about that... I have see some pics that show a little orange but not like this one... But that is what the tag said... I got it in a trade. I wonder if it is wrong?

Well, when & if you hack it back, I'd sure love a cutting of it. I just love the orange ones.

Ditto what BjsBloomers said ;) CG is gorgeous! I love orange flowers!

Unless I find out for sure what it is I won't be trading it as CG, I will say unknown because now I am not sure what it is. If I do I will post on the brug forum this fall.

I have never seen CG with that shape. CG is very common in the San Francisco Bay Area and they all look like this: http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/3017/

I don't know what you have, but it is gorgeous. I hope that it continues to bloom that way for you. When it gets large enough to prune..... I would love a cutting of that unknown.

I have decided that it is going to have to be unknown!!! Several have asked for cuttings of it and it really is pretty!. But I am still confused by the pics on plant files and which shape you are referring to because there are some that look more like the shape of Jean Pasko on there (star shape) and some that are round. So which is correct for CG? And I know I have a CG out there somewhere, because I traded for it. But even though I didn't think the tags were mixed up, I guess they were. I guess somehow on all the rooting, potting and the wintering in the greenhouse.... Anyway here is my JP... and I know this is right...LOL

For those that said they want cuttings...d-mail me and I will put the d-mail in my "fall trades" folder. I can't promise because I don't know how big she will get and how many cuttings I can make.

Take a look at the individual blooms in this photo:
http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/4648/
Depending on the age of the flower, it will appear like yours or rounder. The flower color can vary with the weather from pale golden yellow to a dark golden yellow.
The leaves are entire (smooth edged)

This is a photo of my mother's CG taken this past November before this year's freak winter in California killed it down to the ground. The flowers hidden underneath the canopy were a dark gold color. Beautiful!

You know, Betty, I was comparing pictures of Carol's CG to the ones on the link you sent. Her blooms almost match GardenGuyKin's picture, except for the fact that Carol's seems to have a bit of pink in her bloom as well. Seems to have some Suaveolens in it, don't you think? Whatever it is, it is gorgeous, and certainly a keeper!
