I have a Cerise plumeria that seems to only want to flower in the late fall. I have had it 2 years and the first time it flowered was late fall. Then, late last November it made its second inflo right about when it started going dormant so it dried up . Well now it has a branch on the other side that looks about as long as the last one when it flowered/and forked. I don't want this thing to inflo. late again because it will probably just dry up and I won't get flowers. Sooo....is there a way to get it to flower earlier ? Does anyone else have Cerise, and when does theirs flower?
I feed it bloom booster.
Dumb question about late inflos
that might just be the pattern for it. you might want to keep it going this winter, which would offset the inflos. just a guess. let the gurus weigh in.

I'm no guru, but I get some reds and some seedlings that want to bloom late in the season also. Last year, my 'Duke' started blooming in mid-November and then stopped mid-December and then held on to the inflo and started blooming again in June. 'Duke' was outside and against the house the whole winter. I've set up a temporary greenhouse for this reason: to see things bloom through the winter. Anything that has an inflo in December gets put into the greenhouse to bloom. The heat and humidity of the greenhouse really brings out the red color. This pattern, however, is not set in stone and can change so you could have inflo's form a different times of the year by the same cultivar. My 'Hurricane' (a red) used to bloom during the winter, but this year, it is blooming in the summer. Here are some December greenhouse blooms.
angel - don't let clare fool you. LOL she was the one that got me growing my plumeria in the gh during winter.
LOL, Dete! Now, you're just being nice! Do you still have one up? I still have one up, but I don't have hardly anything in it. I think it is just too hot in there during the summer even with the doors and windows open. Everything was drying really quickly in there so I brought nearly everything out a while ago. I should probably put all my seedlings in there to see if it will make them bloom faster.
haha! yeah, i still have mine up. i have hoyas, orchids, gingers and a coconut in there. i keep the door open and attached a fan to the vent for exhaust. it stays about 15 cooler than outside when i run the wand mister.
Nice! I'm too lazy to even run a fan in there.
Nice red plummie photo Clare! Okay, I will just have to let it do it's thing and figure out where to put it in the winter. Last winter I put everything in the garage when it froze. The garage has windows but no humidity. I can probably rig something up though. Why do the red ones have to be such a PIA? ~harder to root, flower late lol. I guess its since they are so pretty and because they can :P Thanks for the suggestions.
my aztec gold is a late bloomer.
