White Peacocks!

Palm Harbor, FL(Zone 9b)

Well! I've had my WP successfully complete a life cycle! It's so great when I get a new species!! Here goes...I'll show all the pictures.
Eggs....tiny! Right in the top folds of the Bacopa (water hyssop) plant.

Very nice Adrienne! Do you have a pic of an adult?

Wonderful!!!

I recently planted some water hyssop in the hopes of attracting WPs this coming fall season. I haven't seen any in my yard this year so far...but am sure they will show up as the fall season approaches...and I'll be ready!!!

This is probably a dumb question.......does this need to be planted in water?

Hmmm...never thought about that. Any ideas ya'll? I have mine planted in a one foot by 10 foot long plot between my garage wall and the front walk way :o) It's doing well there...and remains fairly shaded.

We have ours on a large potted plant dish. We filled with rocks and water and then sat the smaller plants on top.

Adrienne - Great thread! How did I miss this?!! I have the White Peacocks in my yard all the time. Thanks for showing the cats and the chrysalis! Now I know what to be looking for! Awesome!!! :-) I'm glad to see that you added these great photos to the BugFile! Good idea!!

Thanks for sharing those photos. I have yet to raise White Peacocks...but am hoping they will show up this fall season. Have only seen a rare two or three at one of the parks...guess it's just not the season for them yet. They usually start showing up in great numbers at the end of August.
