Blue-tailed Damselfly (Ischnura elegans)
I've seen lots of these in my garden this summer.
It's the first time I've seen it, it was in my garden briefly but this was above the neighbour's pond. I need a pond, the bath tub isn't big enough for these!
I saw about 5 in one go just the other day. I also went to a local nature reserve and they were everywhere! Must be a good year for them. Get yourself a pond! :)
That looks like the Common Blue Damselfly, the male. Look at the pics here, all details are there if you want to put it in BugFiles. I haven't compared them closely, do a google for a back view, but it looks right,
