Novice Needs some ids

Okay I have two that I need this time. I just can't make heads or tails (or wings) of Id'ing them.

Here is the first one sunning on my retaining wall. Any ideas?

Here is the second one. It just loved my sunflower bush!

Here is another picture of the second one. Is this some sort of Crescent?

The first one looks like a Variegated Fritillary, not sure about the other one.

Maybe the Pearly Crescent on the second one.

Thanks. This helps. I have seen so many new butterflies in my garden I just don't know what to do. I wish I could get more pictures of them. :-)

Y'all are good. I checked the bug files for Variegated Fritillary and Pearl Crescent and both appear to be matches for my butterflies. Thanks a million.
