This is a tough one for me...either a Pearl Crescent or a Silvery Checkerspot......or maybe neither lol.

Maybe someone else knows exactly.

I looked up pearl crescent on Google (Google is my friend!), and mine looks exactly like the one pictured! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Did you look up the SC too? They look similar, the SC is bigger.

You're welcome!

Oh dear! You're right! I hadn't checked the SC. Now I'm really confused! LOL Okay...hoping someone else will come along and let us both know which one it is!

I've been tryin' like the dickens to get several of these (very similar) lil crescents identified for the last year and a half.

Yours .. looks like it may could pass as the Mimic Crescent - but, the tell-tale clue .. is a distinct coloration on the bottom of the club of the males' antenna! See what you think, stephanie > http://www.duke.edu/~jspippen/butterflies/mimiccrescent.htm

Didja happen to get a good gander at the underside of his antenna? .. (gosh, that sure 'reads' a lil funny, don't it!) .. LOL .. Lord only knows how to distinguish the female of this species from several of the other similar lookin' lil crescents!

Goodness, they're all beginning to look alike again - so, it's time for this ol gal to hit the sack.

G'nite all,

- Magpye
