Nulti blue deadheading questions

U.P., MI(Zone 5a)

Hi Everyone,
I have a few questions about my multiblue. I love this plant and like usual it was just covered in blooms this year, This one always does good for me. My questions is this, the petals have all fallen off the flowers and there is only the spikey part left. They have been like this for weeks, . Do I deadhead them, if so when? Will they bloom again?
Thanks for any help,
Sue

Sue..yes deadhead ...Clematis "Multi-Blue" is a pruning group 2 and will bloom again later the summer/early fall..removing the spent blooms only keeps your clematis from wasting its energy on making seedheads that you don't intend to plant..deadheading is always advantageous for all plants unless you want seeds...share pics next time...Jeanne

Lightly prune your "Multi-Blue" by 1/3 to 1/2, depending on its age. Pruning will encourage more roots and thereby provide you with more stems for flowers.

Thanks everyone, I just pruned it this morning. This plant is about 3 years old and very healthy. I cut off about 3/4 of the dead flowers. I left a few if they were fresh looking.
Thanks for all the help I can't wait to see if it blooms again.
This plant had about 75 flowers on it.

Hope you took pictures of this beauty prior to it's 'hair cut'!
