a plug for the stickies

DC metro, VA(Zone 7b)

thought it might be about time to mention that there is a ton of links packed into the two sticky threads put together by begoniacrazii, with input from lots of folks on this forum. Take a gander when the forum is slow - you might find something you've been looking for.

Pic is 3 of the 6 Exotic Angel baskets I picked up last weekend. 3 hoyas, 1 dischidia and 2 columneas. (I did manage to turn down another Columnea labeled as an Aeschynanthus and another dischidia....) Our local HD and Lowes usually don't have such interesting plants so I feel really really lucky.

Ohhhh...you scooped that cool leafed Hoya...look like mermaids tails....I have seen that one here a couple times, but he looks like a fussy creature.....

I have told it that it is going to toughen up - the leaves look so flimsy, I refuse to believe they are supposed to be that way. Must be the cushy gh conditions it's been in. I just learned, though, that it blooms in response to cooler temps so I will probably have a tough time initiating blooms.....

I know what you mean about the leaves....I have a hard time believing it's in the Hoya family.....I hope it listens well to threats....mine usually do.

Keyring, from what I have read regarding your Hoya Polyneura (Fishtail Hoya) it likes COOL dark spots and likes to be dry thoroughly between waterings :)
I LOVE that hoya and our HD and Lowe's NEVER has it here in Maine!

GREAT FINDS!!!! So proud of you :)

Thanks for the plug and kudos Key! I'll take this opportunity to remind folks to send me links they'd like included in the sticky.
Links to sources, links to your online photo album or flickr site, links to culture info etc. are great.

Nice find Key! We never get that Fishtail Hoya down here in Florida either!

I do appreciate all the Great info found there ... just need a little itsy bitsy reminder once in awhile to visit them! I always forget! But, I am amazed at the wonderful info you have given us to use in the stickies!
