I had 3 Oriental Poppies planted in the wrong area I think and all 3 of them look as they they have perished. They didn't bloom this year and were very small. When I dug them I noticed they were quite rotted. I think I had them in an area too shaded and too damp.
I would really like to replace them if anyone should happen to have any extra Oriental Poppy seeds. I would really like to have the pinky/peach color but also love the orange ones :) I just prepared a new section of the bed and amended the soil that gets more sun which I think they will be happier in :)
I live in Maine and things haven't quite gone to seed yet like alot of the warmer zones have but I will have seeds from my Platycodon (balloon plant) collection, Rose Campion "Blush", I have gathered seed from Lychnis "Ragged Robin" and may have a few others if anyone is interested.
I would greatly appreciate it.

CLOSED: Seeking: Oriental Poppy Seeds
Kim,
You have D-mail
Elsa
Elsa, thank you so much for your D-Mail.
I need to clarify this better I think. I am looking for the Oriental Poppies that are perennials in Maine which are usually bright orange and a peachy/pink color.
Thank you again everyone :)
Kim
Kim, I haven't sent out your package yet but I have Oriental Poppy "Papaver Orientale,
Papaver Orientalis, (Red, Salmon and Pink) and Papaver Somniferum var. laciniatum "Red Frills". All are good from zone 3-7. I will mail you a package on Wednesday when I return to work.
Hugs,
Arlene
You are SUCH a sweetheart!!!!
It's no rush to mail my package.
More importantly, how are you babies settling in?
Kim
Babies are doing great. All planted and happy in their new home and I have already started 4 new varieties of morning glories. All have come up and are about 2 inches tall now.
Love them,
Arlene
OMG Really! ALL OF THEM HAVE COME UP?.....You should see me right now doing the Morning Glory dance for you!! I'm SO happy to hear that! Makes my day *smiling ear to ear right now*
Kim
Thank you all so much for the D-Mails and I think I have found some Oriental Poppies to try to winter sow, so I'll close this and cross my fingers that I can get them to grow again. This time I think I'm going to provide them with more sun as I think that is what I did wrong the first time I tried these :(
