Cool... These sure are hardy little hoya's. I have some that have been hanging outside underneath the deck. The temps have been really hot, 90's to 100's, they are just growing away and blooming. The 9% humidity doesn't even seem to bother them.
Actually I think they are cool looking blooms, and pretty too. Thanks for sharing it with us Carol.

Cute! It looks like the flowers can't decide what shape they want to be. Any ideas what causes it to break from it's normal shape?
Very pretty though.

No idea! I have seen 4 and 6 corollas...but never triangular nor square ones!!! Aren't those drops of honey just too much!!!?
mmmm those drops of honey look so sweet.
Do you know if the leaves are their usual shape? I have seen a few leaves that are very odd shaped but have yet to see the flowers as they are young. I am just wondering if irregular shaped leaves and flowers go hand in hand on the same plant. Is this the first time it bloomed? If it has bloomed before was it like this then too. Would be interesting to see what they look like in years to come.
I once heard and can't remember where but someone took some seeds to their dentist to have them exposed to xray. Inturn when they planted them they had all sorts of wierd shapes and colors in the resulting leaves and flowers. I thought it a rather odd thing to do but it does show how other things can influence a plants DNA and growth.
I know us hoya growers have unlikely never grown our plants next to an xray machine and we don't grow them from seed all that much either.
Someday if they ever do any DNA studies on Hoyas it would be neat to compare these irregulars with the norms.
