My two Aracauna roos both crow at midnight and at 3 am. Can anyone tell me why? Its dark and I thought they slept all night. This occurs every night. Not that I mind them crowing, I was just curious as to why they would crow in the middle of the night.
Silly Roo Question
I have probably 10 roosters.. They crown constantly..Day, night and in between.. Had chickens for 40 years.. Still don't know why they crow all the time, lol
Larkie
I always figgured they start to fall off the roost in their sleep and then crow to cover it up.( You know, like "Hey, I wasn't asleep! I was standing guard. I heard a noise! Yea, that was it, I heard a noise")
Kind of like an old guy who snorts and coughs when he's cought in a "church nod".
Oh, that's funny !
Now thats the best answer I ever heard!!! LOL!!!
Yes, they crow constantly . :) DOes a train or a car with bright headlights, or a plane or something go by at those times? My roo would crow any time anyone flushed the toilet in the house! ( Because we all want that announced!)
Thanks to all the replys. I think that jylgaskin may have hit the nail on the head. It seems that Pecker always starts and Junebug follows. I guess Junebug is helping Pecker cover up!
You all are so funny! jylgaskin that's hilarious and I'm sure absolutely true. And I'm cracking up at the rooster announcing every time someone uses the toilet, Backyardhens. LOL
Nooo! Junebug only crows so no one thinks he is sleeping either. "What? What?
OhmiGod! It must be terrorists. Help! Help! Alert! Oh... it was just pecker. Sorry dude. But hey ladies, now that you're awake....."
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! Ohmyohmyohmy,(sniff,sniff,wipetear!) again-Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwww!!!!
