Kell, if you don't have Erin Rachel, you gotta get it!!

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

So Erin Rachel has several beautiful little blooms today, and I'll tell you, the neon orange and pink colors are absolutely eye-popping (so perfectly gaudy, lol!).

As a matter of fact, the flowers are so bright that I think my eyes have melted. On second thought, maybe it's the 105 degree temperature today. I tell ya, when I win the lottery, I'm moving somewhere cooler. Redheads are not made for this kind of heat, it just burns my pale princess-flesh ;-)

karen, who's staring at the bright blooms with a big ole glass of Hawaiian Punch!

LOL Karen. Just beautiful. Great picture. What colors!!!!

105?? Come North! We are running in the 70s in the day and in the 50s at night. I slept under my down comforter last night.

You must live near my daughter. She goes to college in San Francisco, and although she sometimes misses our hot summers, she vastly prefers the weather up in her neck of the woods :-)

Kyle, yours is beautiful. I really love this one with it's super bright colors :-) Really packs a punch for such a little flower.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

And here is mine, yesterday. She's a favorite, but most are. LOL!

Brugie, aren't hibiscus funny that way? Each one that blooms, I think it's my favorite - if I have six bushes in bloom (like yesterday), I don't know which one to pick, lol!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh Karen, we need pictures of your bushes in bloom. Mine never get big enough to call bushes.

Here's mine.

Gordo, yours has a softer color - I like the deliniation between the shades - very pretty :-)

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

Kell, I probably used the term "bushes" loosely - most of mine are small too, my largest is probably Palm Springs which is about 4'. It's been growing like mad, but so far has only produced two blooms this season. I'm hoping that with its growth spurt, I'll see lots of blooms by fall :-)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I need to go look up Palm Springs. Are you zone 10? I can just dream of a garden with these growing all thru it with huge blooms on 10 foot bushes.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

She is really blooming today. I'll not post anymore after this one. LOL!

Wow Brugie, gorgeous - and so many blooms too!!!

Palm Spings is yellow on the outside with a bright pink (almost red) center. It's a super strong plant too, and bloomed tons for me last year. There's a pic of it in Plant Files since it's not in bloom right now :-)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks. I had a hard time getting them in the picture without taking it at an angle. Those blooms are on two branches.

Beautiful!!!
Question:
Why do you have lemons cut in half, by the Hibiscus?
Should I be doing that?

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

I was going to say for the Lemon Drops (bad) but then I looked at the picture. Why do you have half lemons there?????

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

Okay, Brugie, we gotta know - what's the lemony secret??

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Actually, those are cheap oranges that I put out for the Orioles and some of the other birds that visit. Sorry....they have nothing to do with the hibiscus. LOL!
