sad today bad updates on slyvestor

today the labs for slyvestor. they are not good.

we are delaing with my mother in law being in the hospital too. so we have decided tommorow we will put slyvestor down.

i dont understand everything going on but from the looks of it what ever it is(they say a fungi ) has spread to his brain and blood system.

what started out with a lesion on his roof of mouth has turned into a bacterial fungus they cant id. went to the state pathology lab and they say unidentified fungus with a whole lot of other things.

third doctor says most likely what has happened is cut in mouth produced bacteria which inturn produced a fungi as the bacteria wasnt responding to antibotics. which he was on Baytrel clavamox and a steriodial antibiotic all at the same time for 2 months.

the doctors(vets called this the tri three) it was a day and night battle and no matter what we have done the last was kitticonizole a fungus med isnt working either.

the last few days we have seen him declining in health. he is having a severe time eating and his nose and chest is all congested. a few weeks ago i rushed him to the er due to breathing problems and found out his heart is enlarged. from all this.

the vets have drained the infection several times to no avail and today the lady vet told me the infection is so bad to make sure it is all gone they would have to take half his face and then there would still be no guarentees.

they all recomend humanely putting him down.

right now i am torn as i have seen this cat fight battles with this and come out on top and he is so lovable and i don want to let go but i know in my heart he will suffer and thats not something i want either.

it doesnt make sense to me at all especially when they cant id what exactly is going on with him.

been two months and thankfully everyone is saying if it was contagious my other cats would be showing signs by now.so that has been ruled out. i dont know how lucky will take this as they are always together. i couldnt seperate those two even though slyvestor was sick. they mourn for each other so i am concerned here too.
