I bought this plant at a nursery the other day. It had no tag and the owner told me it was a tropical and this is the tag she put on it. Now I can not find any info. Would any of you happen to know another word spelled simiiar to this? I am thinking she might have mispelled it.
Thanks
Sandra
Peristro PHG FG ??
Sandra I've check several websites and googled and can't find anything. I've never heard of it either. Sorry GF can you call the nursery and ask them again?
Jeri
Can you post a picture or description of the plant? That might help point someone in the right direction.
In the meantime, I tried typing Peristro in the genus field in the Plant Files search, and it asked me if I meant Peristrophe instead, here's what that one looks like

Some other thoughts--Pereskia, Perilla, Parrotia, Persea, Petrea
Hi Sandra,
Yea, I have seen that plant in the lowes and other places but dont know the name ... I will check when I go in there again. Just supposed to be pretty foilage i think. Fran
I just need to know how to take care of it, that is the main reason I need a correct name. I chose it for its foliage, I do love the colors.

I think mini greenhouses are nice, but what does that have to do with this plant??? I am confused, as usual--lol
Sandra
Try it now. I don't know what happened.
Jeri
The color is the same, but mine is not a red stem like that, it is in a 4 inch pot in the picture.
Sandra
I don't know what it is, but it isn't var. manihot. If it is in full sun now and is doing ok, then I would leave it there and just water as it dries out. It looks like it could be cut back and just get fuller. If you do cut it back, I would try some of the tips as cuttings.
I have had it in mostly shade since I bought it, I am going to try to root some of the tips when I do figure out what to do with it. I know I will have to bring it inside for the winter.
Sandra
Jeri, you have awesomely wonderful plants and spaces! I surely did miss a lot... I'll catch up next year.
I love that variegated plant with the red stems... too tropical for me.
Peristrophe Hyssopifolia Aureo Variegata

That is it--thank you so much--I read the tag wrong, now I have all my confidence back in Rita--lol--we love to go to her nursery, she has some of the neatest things. she wasn't working that day and her hubs went to their house and brought her out there to label that plant. It is the one that is yellow-green and it has the tiny little bloom on the very end of the limb.
