What horrid disease have I caught now?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I had a gorgeous epi and suddenly it developed orange spots. Do they get rust? Does not rub off.

Any help will be much appreciated!
THANKS

It was so pretty this year. First time it bloomed.

Do epis only bloom once a year?

Kell, it's hard to tell from a pic. I'm having problem with Dave's thumpnail. I am not able to enlarge the pic. Anyhoo, it could be rust/fungus. Check with your local extension office, or nursery for treatment. Those type of fungus seem to like succulent type of plants. My plumeria has this similiar problem. Geez, I hate that!

Well, mine have the black dots, spots? only the red one tho. It blooms away but makes the plant look ugly. I guess use fungus stuff like we use for roses? Maybe not as strong? I have rust on the Plummies to so messy. I had it on cannas so bad i quit growing them after trying every remedy in the book. Once u get it on Cannas and it gets to the bulb part it is a lost cause. Humidity provides a rich environment for this problem. Provide good air circulation would help prevent fungal growth. Most succulents and cactus I gathered unlike most plants, they don't tolerate high humidity well.
