This is Black Voo Doo, I have been waiting for it to get blooming. It has about 30 buds on the plant.Got it as a small grafted plant around the first of May. Soooo dark this one. Wow! I crossed H. Electric Blue by it this morning, although its hot out this afternoon so doubt it will take.

Brugie you got a Black Voodoo too???? I feel so left out of the club :-(

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

I got mine from Martindale nursery in Fla.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Me too, Kyle. I think I ended up getting six or seven new ones from there.

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

Brugie, was your experience with them great, like Kyle's?

I swear - that's it, you guys have broken me down - I've got to place an order, they have so many cultivars I want :-) If we could add little animations to our posts you all would see dollars "flying" out of my wallet, lol!

Thanks for sharing your lovely pics. I've got a couple to post later today..

This place should be called Dave's Garden of Enablers. LOL

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

Ardesia, words more true have never been spoken, lol ;-)

Sorry I'm late in getting here...company from the fourth until today. Yes, I love their plants and I'll order again next spring. Each one was a foot tall or taller. I was very happy with them.

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

Martindale is great, the plants I got from them were big and healthy and most even had buds on them so you can get some quick gratification. My only (teensy) complaint is that you can't see which ones are available or not on the website so you have to email them to find out, but they got back to me very quickly, told me that two of the ones I wanted were ready, two would be ready in a few weeks and if I wanted they would ship them when they became available, and one that I wanted was out of stock completely.

Oh funny Liz, on another thread just a little while ago, I asked where you are getting your hibiscus from. I am off in the morning to see Zuzu so I am stopping at the Marin Farmers' Market to get smoked salmon that is to die for and also to see David. I need a fix. LOL He is bringing me one I have wanted since last year. His are always big too. I am hoping he has another 1 or 2 that has my name on them. LOL .

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

I got a bunch from David too (mail order though not in person), and also Hidden Valley Hibiscus and Exotic Hibiscus. And a few from Logees too, plus some random ones I picked up locally.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Liz, I have gotten a few from Logees over the years and while they were healthy, they were also TINY, 8" plants in small pots. It took sooooo long to grow them out to a decent sized plant (and at my age that is important, LOL). I would be interested in knowing if they are sending larger plants these days. They have a few on sale right now for about 12.00 or so. My feeling is to pay twice as much and get a plant 5 times as large from a good grower.

Kell, have a good day and pick out some pretties from my favorite hibiscus guy. I don't think I could control myself if I ever saw all those hibbies up close and in person.

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

They will sometimes offer slightly larger ones in 4" pots (which are probably still pretty small!) but they still have a lot of them in the 2.5" pots. I don't mind if it takes a little time for them to get decent size, but honestly now that I've found all the other hibiscus vendors I probably won't be buying them from Logees anymore, you do get more for your money elsewhere. I got my ones from them before I really started collecting Hibiscus, I was just collecting tropicals in general and on occasion one of their hibiscus would catch my eye.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Same here, I started with Logees because they had all the fancy tropicals I could not find locally. I still love dealing with them, just not for hibiscus anymore.
