It was NOT a double..It's a TRIPLE!

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

The seedling that had the buds on it from my other post, dropped both of it's big buds from the heat probably.. so I tore it open... Did anyone hear me squeel with delight???
I can hardly believe it.. but it was a perfectly formed triple..

gosh zz are there any more buds on her, that would be fabulas

LOL Now I'm scared to even get close to it.. LOL I see more buds, but I doubt they will survive the heat.. it's predicted to be over 100 degrees for the next 2 days..
It is EDW x EP Sale seeds from www.seedsprout.com from 2005.. Planted 12/06 I've wanted to grow this cross for a long time, I don't care if it's white.. I'm so thrilled.. Seedlings are so fun!
I don't expect color, but I was so thrilled to see the skirts so well formed. The one double seedling I had bloom last year (that I loved) was deformed.. even as cute as it was, the skirts were not right.
It was hard to get a good picture, but those tiny tendrills are so cute when they are tiny! The bud was probably close to 3" long.. by the time I got to the anthers.. they were TINY lil things!

Hopefully the next one will bloom, so we can all see it!! :)
I have a seedling that's just about to "Y" and I'm already dying to know what it's gonna be!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Congratulations Zz! I will be anxious to see the blooms.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

It dropped every bud this morning... it was 99 degrees yesterday and the forcast for the next 3 days is over 100 degrees.... I'm loosing a LOT of buds.
Oh believe me, No one has to worry that you won't get flooded with pics of it's bloom.. I'm known for going bonkers over my seedlings and posting pics here. LOL Everyone has been very tolerant of my over enthusiasm when it comes to my "Babiez" :)
When we think of all the frustration and work involved with brugs, it's amazing how one bloom can take all the pain away.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Im sorry they all dropped. You are so right about that 1 bloom. LOL something has to keep us going.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Shoot, that's too bad. Bet you have lots of time left to get good blooms and pictures for the forum. Will be waiting to see how she does and hope you get some color on it too. I'm like you...new babies that bloom are exciting, no matter what they give us.

What a trooper this lil plant is! More buds already!
Do you think taking pics and going gaga over her humbles me by making them all fall off? LOL

Have you ever thought about taking them inside so that the can live in the lap of luxury when it is scorching hot out, so that you can actually see it bloom? I've got a few tiny buds on Adeline, and, well that thought certainly crossed my mind. LOL!!

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Sure! I've thought about that.. In fact, I love my brugs so much I've thought about a backpack! LOL
She's in the ground... she can't go with me.. :(

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Just an update...

I've picked 6 buds off the ground.. :( that's the bad news.. the good news is they were all triples.

I can't even make myself take a picture, but there are 2 buds that are 4" long.. I am holding my breath as not to jinx them and see them on the ground. I'm trying so hard not to "count my blooms before they... okay. Hatch" LOL

Keep your chin up...it is probably just this summer heat.

It will be nice weather again, soon. :0)

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Thank you Seedpicker! It is so frustrating to see buds on the ground every day.. dried up micro buds.. I'm so sick of them! We are gonna get hotter by the end of the week, probably back into the triple digits, so I'm not getting my hopes up... I have probably 40 seedlings that were big enough to bloom months ago... but with this heat, they are just huge green monsters. LOL

I'm sure you'll go from frustrated right now,
to being on top of the world come Fall.
