Flowers not opening

I have a friend who is having problems with her brug. She had a couple of flowers that didn't open. The green part (calyx?) didn't open and the flower inside was all crumpled up. Has anyone ever had this problem? Anyone know what might cause it?

As long as most of the flowers looked normal and opened, I wouldn't worry too much. I don't know enough about deformed flowers to give you an exact reason, but sometimes it's weather related. Too hot, not enough humidity! Maybe someone with more information will come along.
