I'm glad to see boliviensis in the main stream (I bought mine at Lowe's but I saw one at Wal-Mart last week). Now if all the other great begonias would be main-streamed.

P.S. I've had this begonia since the 3rd week in May and it hasn't stopped blooming yet.

Check out the earlier posts concerning boliviensis and the controversial 'Bonfire'.

The one that I bought is labeled 'Bonfire'. Thanks for the links. I bought the container for $4.50. I wonder if I should go back and get some more. I seem to be able to grow begonias great outside but the minute I bring them in for the winter I eventually lose them. What am I doing wrong.

You aren't doing anything wrong. We all have the same problem - begonias plus winter equals blahs. Move to Florida, S. California, or any place semi-tropical and your problems will be over.

Mine is gorgeous, but getting kind of leggy. Should I pinch it back?

Powder Springs, GA(Zone 7b)

According to one of the growers, you should pinch it all the time and give it lots of light (sun is okay). Fertilize heavier than other begonias and keep it on the drier side.

I have not pinched mine yet but do have it in a fairly sunny area and fertilize weekly. The one I got from Lowe's dries out between watering (3 days a week). The other one stays moist but no sign of rot.

Thanks, it's probably not getting enough sun, either. I shall pinch it immediately, what's the likelihood of the tips rooting in water? (I'll give it a shot anyway).
