Osprey... I took this shot just to get a picture of the nest, but when I down loaded it to my computer I realized there was a baby Osprey looking over the edge.

One more for Maggie. Went back today and took some more pics. Hope to be there when they start to fly. This one might be thinking about it. He/she is above the nest.

Thanks adelbertcat! They are so cool! I do see them in person when I am fishing. They are huge when they are flying over you. When I get my new camera one day hopefully soon I will share my pics also! :)

Grandmaggie, Beachwood is near Toms River, right? I lived on the barnegat Bay in Manahawkin for several years, a Blue Heron used to land on a patch of wetlands behind my house every day, no matter the weather. I miss him alot. I miss all the beautiful winter visitors - ducks of all kinds, kingfishers, swans, even a bald eagle one day!

Supposedly there is heron nesting going on at Island Beach Park and in the Forsythe Preserve down near Atlantic City and Brigantine, ever been there?

Yes Beachwood is near Toms River. About 30 minutes from Manahawkin. I see Blue Herons a lot when I am fishing. In Lakewood on Lake Carasaljo. Assunpink Wildlife Management Area. Even in our local ponds they are there. Yes I have been to IB State Park but not Brigantine have driven by it. Ummmm Barnegat Bay nice crabs!!!!
