Is this the one you're talking about?

It is hard to tell from the pic.
Basically the leaves are darkbrown-green like Black Magic (couldn't tell the color in your pics) and the leaves are wavy like Ruffles.

If you have this, what if anything could convince you to part with a plant?

I went out and took a couple more pics with lighter exposure. Does this help?

Eureka! I think you got it!
What could I entice you with?

See above.
Since Chantell started this thread, I will defer to her if she can entice the 1st EE from you.
Hopefully there are seconds!

LOL.
There are several runners that have just started and will be awhile before they are ready. I supposed I should think about getting it in the ground to encourage more runners.
I'll keep you both updated.

Many thanks!

Rox - that was good of you, thank you - esp. since I know you've been looking for this as well.

Jan - I knew we did the Sarcococca confusa trade (the snail vine is doing well, btw) but do you know I just realized that you were also the one traded with last June? Did that variegated jasmine do ok for you? As for that beaufitul EE you have...yes PLEASE keep both Rox and I in mind - doesn't matter how long it takes...as I'll be bringing them inside come Oct. any-who-how. Most importantly, how is your mom doing?

Pinellas Park, FL(Zone 9b)

Hi Chantell,
I don't remember a variegated jasmine so I guess it didn't do so good. LOL.
The largest runner has root nubs on the bottom and I just turned in back to the pot and put the bottom side in contact with the dirt so it will probably root quickly.

Mom is doing well. She spent 6 days in ICU and 6 days in PCU and then a week at my sister's. My brother in law went to the grocery store and when he came home, she had her bags packed and said it was time to go home. She has been at home alone for a week now but someone goes over every evening to spend time with her and make sure she is eating a good dinner as her appetite isn't up to snuff yet. She still can't believe she went off the deep end from the morphine and wishes someone had video taped her so she could she it now that most of her senses have returned. LOL Her surgeon did refer her to an oncologist for a second opinion on chemo as the pathology report wasn't clear on whether it had invaded the colon wall. Hopefully, she won't have to but she is prepared to if necessary. She is one feisty woman for having just finished surgery and radiation for breast ca in the spring. Thanks for asking.

So glad to hear about your mom!! God love her - fiesty is right....good for her!!!
As for the jasmine - wasn't ever sure if it was tagged correctly at the store - this wasn't a great pic (before getting my decent camera) but looked like this

Chantell,
Did you get your Black Runner?
I have 2 pups I believe will be ready to ship soon. They are small but rooted enough.
It's been raining on and off for 3 days so I have been out there much to check.
I think Rox was next and Heavinscent after that if still wanted.

Athens, OH

Yes, definitely still wanted....Please!!!!

Mine's doing this runner thing ! I have what I thought was black magic on the driveway side but I've never seen those do this. These were from bulbs. I was kinda aggravated when the long things started showing up getting out of bounds. I re routed them towards the bed. I noticed yesterday it has leaves on the ends of the runners ! I came here looking for info and here it is! Thank you. I will wait for some roots now. It's almost like they are walking. LOL

I'd love to do a trade if anyone wants some of these when they root. Maybe for one of the variegated or mickey mouse EE...:)

Athens, OH

Budgie is sending me one, but I'd love another. I do have Xanth Mickey Mouse and Alocasia Hilo Beauty.

Oh WONDERFUL!! I'll keep an eye on them for roots. I see a couple more of the shoots that I didn't see before. Another one trying to cross the sidewalk this evening. I have some others that are unusual. Probably not to you but I will take a pic and show you. Maybe you'll know what they are. I rescued them from under the patio way back in there barely hanging on by a root. Possum or cat probably digging back in there. I planted it in the new yard and in just a few days A leaf shot up! Now there's 10 on there! Must be the perfect place for it.

I don't know what the patio saves are...some kind of Alocasia.

It's lovely.
Hopefully someone will recognize it.

Thanks for looking ROX. Hope someone knows what they are. Their leaves are so shiney and much thicker than other aroids that I have.

I've just been out there investigating...I saw one really far away from the mother that has bigger leaves than the rest of the tiny ones. I tugged gently on it and it has put down roots! I'll give it a little more time to get bigger ...then what? Cut it loose from the mother? Where? It looks like they start out flat along the ground then start turning upwards when they get about three feet long. Then tiny leaves come out. I see several with tiny leaves that I had not noticed before. Lots of purple in that area with the persicariar red dragon behind the ee's and I missed them until today. Or else they've just opened their tiny leaves. I feel like a grandmother!

Athens, OH

Congratulations, it's a pup!

Once they firmly root, you can cut off the pup from the Mother plant. I like to let the pup live on its own in the ground for a week or two before digging it up and shipping.

OR You can cut off the pup and pot it up and leave it in partial sun until it roots more.

OR You can cut off the pup and wrap it in wet spagnum moss or water crystals and paper towel and ship immediately. Wrap the whole plant in moist newspaper (including the leaves).

The first two tend to reduce shock the most, but the later usually works too.

Beaumont, TX

Thank you. I think I'll let him put out a few more roots right where he is. Then I'll cut him off. There's seven so far. I'll keep an eye on them. You can have as many as you'd like. I need the room for the snazzy ones from you. :)
