Hello,
I live in Texas and I was wondering if any of you knows how can I get a plant called string of nickels. I tried the Internet, but the vendor that has it is out of stock. If someone knows how can I order it I would really appreciate it.
Thank you
Lourdes
help finding Hoya/ dischidia
I think Exotic Angel plants has one, try Home Depot, Lowes, Target or any nursery in your area that sells their plants. If you can't find a place, maybe send them an email thru their website and with your zipcode, they could probably tell you where in your area their plants are sold.
Certain varieties are available at different times of the year, so it may be a matter of checking back at the store alot, or maybe a friendly employee would take your name and call you if one comes in. I have a garden center near me that was nice enough to order me certain varieties that I asked for from Exotic Angel, as long as the particular variety I wanted was in stock.
I currently work at a Home Depot. I wish mine was as friendly as I've heard others can be. Our garden department has completely cut back on the amount of houseplants we get. We have only gotten one shipment of Exotic Angel plants. And it doesn't look like we'll be getting anymore. I asked our Garden DH if he could order specific plants for me and he just looked at me like I was crazy. There is a Lowe's opening up closer to my home and I can't wait. They always do have a bigger selection than my store. The only plants we have now for sale, hanging-wise, are pothos, philos and some type of fern. Sigh.

Thank you. Bhavana34 and Willow518, I have tried 3 lowes and 2 home depot without any luck. I even called EA but they told me they don’t sell retail. He said that I should keep checking in the local stores. I guess that is my only chance.
I really appreciate you taking the time to read my posting.
Thank you again,
Lourdes =)

Thank you everyone for replying I’ve attached the link from EA so you can see. It is a dicshidia they have a lot of varieties. Some sites say it’s a nummularia others sp/ The one I want looks like the one in the picture.
Thank you Larry, I will check the site.
I really want to thank all of you. I’m new to the forums and I’m really very thankful to all of you.

I was browsing the EA website, and they have a feature that will notify you when a "fresh" shipment is going to a store near you. free to sign-up, and this way you'll be able to swoop in on a store and have first dibs on the new shipment!
Thank you!!! I'll make sure I register.

AH - thanks. Be aware, Lourdes, that when you order, you will get the correct Dischidia but it may be thicker or different from that picture. D. nummularia is very variable....
and it grows very dry in a pot and like moisture if grown on tree fern.
Lourdes,
I have String of Nichels. I got it from the Lowes close by me. Do you have plants to trade? I'm always up to a good trade.
Tami
Thank you AlohaHoya, I’ll keep in mind your advice. Thank you for taking the time to answer my posting.
Hi TamiXWP, what kind of plants are you looking for? I don’t have that many, but if you tell me what do you want, I can certainly see if by any chance I have it. Are you looking for a whole plant or cuttings.
Latter I’ll try to take some pictures so I can post them, that way you can see what I have.
Thank you very much both of you

Hi TamiXWP ,
My camera is not working. Any way this are the plants I have: Swedish Ivy, angel wing begonia, string of bananas, string of pearls (this one is slowly coming back), piggy back (6in pot), alocasia (6in pot), hindu rope/hoya carnosa it is not blooming, schefflera (6in pot), dichidia pebble beach (also bouncing back) and I have four more that I don’t know the name the tag only says tropical plants. I have two big palms. And some flowers in my flower bed ouside mostly annuals.
As I said, I don’t have that many plants, I just started learning about them and trying to get more.
Let me know if you are interested.
Thank you very much
Hi Tami,
Sorry to bother you again, I been thinking that if the plants that I have do not appeal to you, you can tell me one that you’d like to have. I could check in the nurseries here in Austin and if I find it maybe then we could trade?
Let me know what do you think.
Thank you so very much for your patience, I’m new at the forums as well as the plant addiction.
Lourdes =)
