I thought that because of the red orbital ring and no red on the bill that these were Ring-Billed Gulls.

Gulls are sooooooo entertaining!

They both have a red orbital ring, slightly wider, more conspicuous on Calif Gull. But the yellow iris (why didn't I notice that before!!!) shows they are Ring-billed after all . . . maxima mea culpa!

LOL, Gulls not so fussy about names I betcha.
Makes me feel like I'm sitting on the shore. Oh my that would be nice on this outrageously hot day in a long string of hot days. 104 today and 105 tomorrow and probably hotter on Monday. I WANNA GO SIT NEXT THE OCEAN.
