Melody, This is a female Pearl Crescent. Silvery Checkerspot does not have white crescents within submarginal black band of hindwing. Also Silvery Checkerspot has one or two white/ silvered centers of the hindwing spots and the forewing has an intact outer spot of the trailing edge whereas this specimen has an open broken spot.
