Beautiful picture. Thanks for sharing it. I just went out today and bought a 'Pink Delight' butterfly bush. I hope mine turns out as beautiful as the one in your picture.

My Pink delight is planted against my house where it gets the sun as soon as it comes up until around 3 depending on the time of year. The blooms last a vey long time. I'm wondering if that is because it doesn't get the afternoon sun.
This is only its second year. I will prune it mid winter to about 2 feet. Then I will not allow any braches to grow under the 1 1/2 ft mark. Kind of like what people do to crape myrtles. It look nice. More like a tree. I also dead head often. It is hard to keep up with on my black knight but not my pink delight. If I didnt love this bush so much I wouldn't go through the trouble. I know some people think its a crime to have them. I love the smell. I can smell them wafting through the air more than any other plent I have in my garden.

Here is my black knight buttterfly bush. It was very small when I got it . It is aroung 4 years old now. I love it. It get all day sun until late afternoon. The blooms don't seem to last as long the pink delight's blooms. I love the fragrance.

That's so unique. I've never seen one pruned that way before. Maybe I'll try that with one of my 'Black Knight'. Then I can use a little of the space below for small plants. Great idea.
