I NEED help! and quick!

Red Oak, TX

I don't know what is happening to my Amorph. Hewittii. yesterday i went outside to check on it and i noticed a whole in the stem! it look rotted and goes about a 1/4 of an inch into the stem. I don't mind it as long as it doesn't kill my plant. Can someone help me??? i know the pic is bad, but you can't see it from far away...

sounds like a borer has gotten into it and if it has then it will probably die but im no expert so maybe someone else will come along and help you to make sure, can you see any kind of bug in the hole?

i found the problem. I moved the plant into the sun to see if i could get a better look, and something shinny in the hole caught my attention. i found a round copper b.b. in my plant! My naighbor shot my plant on accident! Does anyone know if it will kill it? it still looks healthy...

I don't know about Aroids, but Bromeliads don't take well to copper. I'd make sure the BB or BBS are no longer in the plant.

Placenciarita, I would e-mail Brian Williams. He will know! jerry
