I tried ordering the oriental lilies mixed bulbs from DirectGardening.com. The first time they sent ones that were rotting so bad that my husband thought some animal died in the garage, even after I threw it out in the trash can. I called and the company sent replacements a week later but this time it was crackling brittle dry. Touch and the thing starts falling apart. Third times the charm right? They sent again. This time it's very moldy, ready to much in some cases. I put fungicide on it and hoped for the best. Finally 5 out of 16 grew. But low and behold, it's not oriental lily. It looks like white trumpet lilies instead. Not fragrance at all. I gave up on the company. Obviously, they're horrible with bulbs. (Don't even mention the other plants I purchased) So, I'm looking to see if anyone has any extra oriental lily bulbs to give away. Thanks.
And, be warned. Don't buy from Direct Gardening.

Lindy - make sure to post in the watchdog if you haven't already: http://davesgarden.com/gwd/c/231/
Looks like their feedback is pretty awful!! Wish I had some to share but mine were just planted a couple months back. Watch the co-op thread - you can get some good deals that way.
This was before I found DG. Only if I knew what I know now... I'm still exploring here.. There's a lot of forums and thread to check out.
I just check out the Co-op thread. I didn't realized that there was co-op here to buy plants. I'll keep an eye out there too. I guess I was just hoping that someone would toss a bulb or two my way when they become available considering that I'm already out the cost of the original bulbs that I purchased (not including the other plants that I ordered).
What really gets me is that I lost a year dealing with DirectGardening already. Each time they sent me a replacement order, they'd tell me they're back ordered a week or so but will send it out immediately. But for some reason, their shipments always shipped out about 3-5 weeks after what they originally stated and their actually ship time was more like a week. I have to say that it was probably the worst mail-order experience I ever had.

Here is a link to print out a complaint form to send to your State Attorney's office.
That is awesome. I will definitely do that. I can't believe that this company is just so horrible with bulbs and plants... Thank you. Now, if I can just get oriental lily bulbs with shelling more money, things would be just peachy then. Even if I can get them to refund the money and apply it to a local nursery would be nice...
Guess that's why mom always told us life isn't always fair... Someone once told me, parents are smart for the first then years (they understand everything), dumb for the second ten years (they don't understand anything) and smart again after the third ten years (they were right about everything after all). Guess the third ten years hit me kinda late... Live and learn. Won't be buying from there again.
If you are referring to yourseof, remember it's in the kid's opinion that your intelligence diminishes that second ten years.. because teens know all
Jazz.. I'm not sure I ever left the second ten years.. Should have long long past that but then I think my mom was the exception to this rule. :) Love her and all but she's got to the most absent minded person I've ever know. I'm sure when I have kids, they're probably gonna say the same thing about me.
That's got to be it. I'm just like her so I forgot what she said in the first 10 so she can't possible be any less intelligent in the second ten or more intelligent in the third ten.. Oh, poo. Then again if I can't remember the good than I can't remember the bad. Hum.. Doesn't sound all that bad.. :)
