Hey Gessiegail,
what kind of little boxes do you put the AV leaves in? Where do you get them?

Little boxes
Can't you find a small box at your house.........if nothing else, do you have a child who has a children's shoe box........I get mine from the post office unless I can find something at home.........I have an idea.......why don't you just use one of those bubble wrap envelopes but still put the leaves inside a zip lock bag........
I am not worried if they get damaged.......they will grow i promise ....I have used part of leaves before if they got damaged......even know how to cut the leaf around the vein to use it....
thanks so much....just use a small bubble wrap envelope that seed come in...

I've also put leaves inside cardboard tubes from paper towels, pill bottles, or little jewelry boxes, and then sent them in a bubble envelope... they traveled fine that way, although I sent them when temperatures were pretty moderate.
I'm not sure how this will work out with the new postage rate tables -- I've figured out the rates for regular envelopes, which they've now defined as being 1/4 inch or less in thickness (41 cents for the first ounce, plus 17 cents to hand cancel the BE, plus 17 cents for each additional ounce beyond the first)... but I can't seem to find rates for fatter packets (an empty BE is nearly 1/4 inch thick, so it can get beyond that pretty quickly even if you're just sending seeds), as everyone I ask has a different answer.
