Hi all....I got a ginger a while back and it's growing...kinda lanky though. I'm confused as to what it would like. Can it go outside? If so where..sun, shade? What kind of temperatures can it handle? Our nights fluctuate between 50F and 70F. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Do you know which kind of ginger it is? There are a whole bunch of different ones and how to take care of it will probably be different depending on which one it is.
Oh...sorry...forgot that part...I had it sent to me from Hawaii and it's just labeled Hawaii White ginger.....hope this helps.....

I couldn't find Hawaii White Ginger in Plant files, but this one comes up for White Ginger so hopefully that's it. If it is, there is some info in there on what it likes. It can definitely be outside for the summer and will probably be happier there, but you'll need to bring it in for the winter.
