I bought a tropical hibiscus last summer. I bought it with the intention of keeping it strictly as a 'houseplant'. The flower shop I got it from told me it would do fine in a bright window. It is now a year later and it has done very well. With the exception of a short period in the winter, I have had buds and flowers almost continually. Currently I have more buds than I can count. I recently just bought a second one and I'm hoping for the same results.
So why am I posting, you might ask? Because, now that I have two (and plan to get more still), I want to learn more about them to keep them healthy and happy. But as I've searched online, I have not come across any information regarding keeping them as a houseplant year-round. Everything I've read assumes that the hibiscus is only being brought indoors for the winter in areas where they are not hardy. Does anyone else here grow them indoors year round? If so, do you have any tips or resources you could point me to?
Thanks in advance,
Christina
