Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

My night blooming cirrus is really busting out all over. Five bloomed open last night, three opened tonight. I'm so excited. Dorothy

Very pretty, do they have a nice fragrance?

To me they kinda smell like chocolate. I really love the smell. Yeap, this morning they were hanging their little heads. That's the sad part, such a beautiful bloom to only last one night. I've still watching the remaining three open tonight. Dorothy

Night Blooming Cereus is the correct name.

Here is mbf Connie's thread. All you ever need to know ☺

I had to chop mine back as I did with everything else in preparation of a big relocation for us. ;-))

They will travel safer and will re grow.

Really enjoyed your picture.
Thanks,
~Shirley

Scooterbug, thanks for the info. Checked out Connie's thread. Very interesting. Gonna try the fertilizer formula. Never heard the pinching of the stem, will give it a try. Dorothy

If you leave all those basicaly unproductive long skinny shoots on your NBC , it just makes the whole plant look untidy.

If it really bothers you just poke the shoots you pinched off into some soil and make more plants , lol

Happy Growing ☼

Mine is growing in a pot between two oak trees. It has been there for about six years. I could not move it if I wanted to, it is rooted into the ground. It blooms two or three times a year without much care. I fertilize it the same way I do my orchids, weak, weekly. Just wish i could remember to see the bloom! Lorine

Wow ! How neat that you can let it grow as it should .

Must be a really neat thing to see ;-)

Would love to see a picture ♥
