Is this Episcia 'Pink Panther'?

Nottingham, MD(Zone 7a)

I bought this a few weeks back and it was not labeled. I'm wondering if this is 'Pink Panther'?

I just ran and looked at mine............sure looks like it........it has that almost bright green in the center of the leaf and goes almost into browns....well,not brown but the green has some brown in it??????

*******always remember when I speak, I only started to grow this family of flowers back at the end of January.......now I act like I know what I am doing and I DON'T

It's a close match if it's not...
Can you go back and check your invoice or where you paid for it???
If you bought it off ebay check down inside the pot and see if the tag is stuck down &you just don't see it...

It's a very nice plant!!!

Thanks all!

Gail, you could have fooled me! With all the gessies you have, I certainly thought you were a long-time grower.:) No matter, your opinion is still valuable. So, yes, mine has some brown in the leaf. the green, though, seems to be darker than my named 'Pink Panther'. Lighting conditions can affect the shades.

MsC- no such luck....it was purchased from a local nursery- no tags to speak of.

could it be 'Teddy Bear?' I suppose it could be just about anything, huh. Probably better call it a look-alike. Here's an episcia site I found a while back:

http://www.streptocarpus-info.com/Episcia/index.html

There are really just so many that it could be, I'm sure.

Yes, it could be Teddy Bear cause I can't tell em apart... I knew there was as site with pics of the Episcias... there are almost as many look a like episcias as there are AV's...lol

oh my goodness............i want every plant Thad Skaggs has come up with!!!!!!!!!!!! what winners!!!!

GrowHappy, I'm late in replying, but I've been having the same difficulty in deciding if I have Pink Panther or Teddy Bear. This site http://www.streptocarpus-info.com/Episcia/index.html (which won't load for me right now) says that Pink Panther has the "pine tree" shape in the middle of the leaves, which yours appears to have. Mine, does, too, so I think they're both Pink Panther. Mine is pictured here. http://davesgarden.com/forums/p.php?pid=3702142

I don't have 'Pink Panther' yet, but I checked out your site and others Amy, and I still believe both yours and Grow Happy's is PP and not 'Teddy Bear'....

Karen

I agree completely. They both have the "pine tree" like it says PP does, so I'm convinced that's what they are. :o)
