From news and weather reports ..... y'all are getting a LOT of rain with flooding in many parts of Texas. How is everyone out there doing?
How are all our Texas friends doing with the rainy weather?
It is WET! I got 3" during the day yesterday. But it was the 3" I got within an hour this morning that finally did it -- the yard couldn't drain fast enough and some of it came in under my patio window. Ergh! But I was lucky, only a corner of my living room carpet got wet. Not like the people at the end of my street who got flooded when the storm drain couldn't handle the load and backed up into their homes. I got 15" of rain at my house in May and probably the same again this month. We're supposed to be expecting "more of the same" tonight and I'm just about to say "Enough already!!!"

Yes, it surely has been unusual, and for some people very sad. I guess if it not one thing it's another, right?
Oh gosh, Carla! So sorry to hear about the water coming into your home. I hope the rain passed soon and things get a chance to dry out! We are praying for rain here. It is hot and dry and the risk of fires is very high. :-/ Thanks for letting us know how you are doing.
Josephine - I hope I can assume that you are doing fine. If the plants don't wash away, then they will certainly grow well with all the water they gotten recently (if they don't get root rot).
Yes, we are fine, we are fortunate to live on a rather high lot.
Thank you for your concern.
Thanks Becky for taking the lead on this! I was lying in bed last night thinking of all the "Texas Girls"...
My thoughts are with all of you! There's no foolin with Mother Nature....
Stay safe!

Becky, I've had another 1" of rain since yesterday. But luckily it came down 1/2" at a time and my yard had plenty of time to absorb or drain it away. My plants, fingers firmly crossed, seem to be holding up okay. There is more rain in the forecast for the next week, though. This will be the wettest June on record for us, and July is supposed to be just the same.
Where is Sebestian? My Aunt and Uncle live in Lady Lakes (in north central FL), on Lake Griffin. It seems like it's either feast or famine with us. When we're suffering with drought, FL has hurricane after hurricane. And when we're too wet, FL is suffering with drought and fires. But I sure wish this "upper level low" that is sitting on top of our area would shift off to the east and give FL/GA/AL some badly needed rainfall.
Carla
I hear ya, Carla! I hope you just get little bursts of rain here and there and NOT continuous down pours! The weather has been so unpredictable the past 5 years for me here in Florida. We are getting some rain today and tomorrow. (Thank goodness!) We usually do get rain during the late summer (Aug. & Sept) brought in from hurricanes or tropical depressions. But early summer it's usually hot and dry. And my poor plants are out there panting. lol
Sebastian is about 65-70 miles directly south of Kennedy Space Center on the east coast of Florida (near Vero Beach). And for some weird reason, we often get hurricanes right up to our back door. It's something that always keeps us on our toes here. After getting battered in 2004 by two hurricanes in a row, it makes it a bit stressful to live on this part of the east coast. I'm hoping that this year is another year like last year and no hurricanes to be concerned about. :-/

Hi Becky!
Luckily we are not near the parts that are getting the worst....Dallas and some other areas, I heard on the news a town got 18" in 6 hours...that would have been horrible. That's a lot of rain!
I feel so bad for those that have livestock and crops.
