Hey guys, I finally received my mixed order of rare chicks from Murray McMurray. Everyone is doing great, but I did lose my only Golden Polish chick. She was fine the first day and the secong morning, but when I came home that afternoon she was lying down and doing the gaspy thing : ( However, the rest of my babies are looking great. My question (finally lol) is that I really want to replace my Polish, but I don't want to order 25 more chicks. Is there a breeder or hatchery that might have a large selection of guineas and chicks that might send these together so that I may replace the loss and have enough room for the guineas that I still want. Shoot, if anyone knew of a breeder on the Missouri area I might even be able to pick them up if it was a problem. Anyways, thanks for any help.
Need info on breeders.
I got some chicks and ducklings for a friend from Ideal Poultry. They have a $20 min. and extra charges for 1/4 boxes etc. You might want to try Eggbid.com and if you have an incubator you can buy eggs from Eggbid or even Ebay. I have had good luck with all the eggs I have had shipped
There is a buy/sell/trade board at backyardchickens.com and you could post there, someone near you might have what you are looking for......
eggbid has ppl who sell eggs and chicks and sometimes adults. It's a good auction site and I would definitely check it out if I had a particular I was looking for.
Good luck
Julie
Thanks, I appreciate the help. No, I'm not interested in eggs. The Ideal Poultry site just has a cost minimum, will the chickens arrive healthy or will there be a high mortality because I only ordered a few?
I got mine on May 16, I ordered 7 marans, 4 red silkies, 4 silver sebrights and 3 pekin ducks for a friend. Everyone arrived healthy and happy and still are. I don't know how they would handle the heat????? That would be a question for seasoned chick shippers.
Garden Watchdog has this rating of 80% http://davesgarden.com/gwd/c/4437/
From what I understand normally they send that many due to keeping them warm during the unstable spring monthes they may just send the required amount.........

may be of help but pricey..........
