I was digging in the garden and realized my shovel had hacked and slashed dormant daffodil bulbs that had previously been planted in the same space. Is there any hope for these bulbs, or should they be thrown away?

Dust them with crushed charcoal (a great old-time fungicide) and replant. It's worth a try to save them, esp. if they are older, heirloom or harder to find expensive varieties.
