How do you tell???

I got some palm seeds from someone in Florida a few months back,still waiting for them to germinate,but one did about couple weeks ago,but as I watched it form into something else.
Now can you tell if this is a caladium or a Colocasia.

Definately Caladium - the pink splotches are a dead give away.

Well was hoping for a new variety of Colocasia!!!

I saw a wonderful explanation of the difference between Alocasia and Calocasia....heart-shaped, arrow-shaped, growing point up vs point down, etc. But there were so many exceptions to the "rules" that I just gave up, and look each one up individually. I memorize what I have - and when I see that again, I know what it is....otherwise, its either one or the other....:-)
