How to ship plumies?

I need to ship my plumies. One large one and the others are about a foot high. Any tips on how to pack them and what service to use? Is overnight necessary? Thanks for your help.

Shipping with USPS priority has gotten quite expensive lately due to the 'volume' pricing they now apply. For shorter distances I have found FedEx Ground to be just as fast and much cheaper. I like packing them swathed in styrofoam peanuts, or wadded up newspaper. Rooted plants will have to have their rootball wrapped in a plastic bag or you can leave them in the pot.
Hope this helps.

Thanks. In the plastic bag do I need to provide water and soil with the complete rootball?

I usually just wrap a moistened paper towel around the rootball, and that usually still has a bit of soil attached.

Thanks!

I have found that wrapping them in bubble wrap in conjunction with peanuts or news paper in the box really works well.
