Squash and cukes

Ashdown, AR(Zone 8a)

We've had a lot of rain for June so my squash and cukes have a bad case of mildew and are looking bad. I need to pull out this crop and sew some more seeds. Can I plant back in same area or am I asking for the same trouble? If I can't,what can I follow the squash and cukes with? I dug my potatoes, can I plant squash and cukes behind them?

I had..once upon a time,a schedule that had all this info but I've lost it.

It's not hard and fast. I tuck things in where a space emerges. So, yes, the potato bed's a good idea. Potato's (solanaceae) not in the same family as squash and cukes (curcubitaceae) and isn't generally bothered by the same pests as them. But like I said, in my own garden, anything goes. :)

edited for shameful spelling

I don't know the "right" answer, but if it was MY garden, and i had other space, I think I'd rotate. Lucky you to have time to replant. At this point in the Northeast, if anything dies, it's SOL!

Maybe I should put more cukes and squash in the vacated potato bed and cabbages ,kale, collards and other greens in the place where the squash and cukes are now. I know from experience, turnips won't do worth a flip planted after tomatoes.

Darn! I wished I had my planting guide.

zeppy,
no need to correct your spelling. I can't spell for manure either...LOL

sequee,
we can garden 8 months out of the year. Year round if I'm now too lazy to put up the polytunnels.
