A large leaf here.. 19 " ..How big do yours get..

Brooklyn, NY(Zone 7b)

This is a Hawaiian double white from seed I planted perhaps in Feb 4 months old now... it'sleaves area bout 19" and she sits 30" tall.. pretty soon it will be above the fence and entering the wind shear zone.. so I suspect she will start making smaller leaves.. she's lightly tethered to the fence now... but then she'll be on her own.

HDW sits in a long planter.. next to a seedling in the same batch with her.. her mate on the right of her .. is Dark Rosella... from German seed... almost as big a plant/ leaf... as DWH but not quite as big... Gordon

I can't tell you how nice it is to see what a Brug leaves should look like! The cats have been so bad here that even with BT mine are still full of holes :( Your plants look so very healthy Gordon!

Than is big, healthy leaves. Those of the seedlings I have rised that had big leaves always turned out to be fast, vigorous growers. I bet there is a lot of power in those seedlings of yours : )

Ealy in the season some of the leaves are 16 or 17", but as the heat sets in the leaves get pretty small - 3 to 4"

I went out to measure my leaves - and 23 inches seems like a warp setting! It's unbelievable!!

I had 23" leaves on Rosamond this year, but I didn't get a pic and wasn't sure if anyone would believe me! LOL She has long since Y'd and has mature leaves now.
Rosamond was a cutting, planted in the ground... fed once a month with Peters 20 20 20. That is all I have for feeding this year, I got 2 huge boxes on the clearance rack at Lowe's for $2.49 a box. Enough to last me all year.
The "Wall-O-Brugs" area where most of my brugs are planted, I worked on the soil very hard this year.

The seedling is from seeds I purchased from www.Seedsprout.com It is Genevieve x Olympic Flame. I am excited about them!

Talking about Velvet leaves? Oh Yeah! Candida Double White is the softest ever and is giving me a bunch of blooms, even in this heat! I LOVE her!
