Free cuttings from now unknown Brug

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Open: I have enough cuttings of this Brug left for three more Brug lovers in return for postage.

Two years ago, I purchased what was listed as Silver Dawn from someone on eBay. It produces beautiful large fragrant blooms, is very disease free and produces seed pods freely. It has been in the greenhouse for 1-1/2 years because it grew down between the tiles and into the ground while overwintering in 2005.

It's been raining on and off for the last few days. So I hadn't been in the greenhouse. Today I found the pot on its side. I think grasshoppers must have gotten under the pot and severed both large roots. Since the trunk takes up most of the pot, I cut off all the trunks into 10" - 12" logs and the above the "Y" branches into 15" lengths.

Right now I have a small aquarium full of cuttings. I thought I'd offer the cuttings for postage, but found I didn't have a photo of any of the flushes it has had. So I went looking for a photo of Silver Dawn to add as a hyperlink.

I found one photo by Monika and discovered it is not what I have

What I have is somewhat similar to Favorite's Delight:

Or First Day but with a short neck showing below the calx:

Now I don't know what to call it.

If anyone is interested, I'll send 2 logs from below the "Y" and 1 cutting from above. The logs are about 1" in diameter. I have enough for 7 people.
Veronica

Just to let everyone know: Our small town post office didn't have any of the small priority mailing tubes. I had to order them online. They wil take from 5 to 10 days to get here, but I will mail the cuttings out as soon as I can get them packaged. By then, they should have rooted. Now I have to go out and scrounge for lots of glass jars so the cuttings won't be so crowded. I had expected them to be gone by tomorrow. =)

Thanks bettydee,I too can pay through Paypal if you wish, it would be easier, and faster for you.

Doris, that would be helpful. I'll send my e-mail address when I mail the packages. I was so discouraged when the post office didn't have the mailing tubes on hand. That's one disadvantage of living in a rural area near a small town, but so far the advantages far still outweigh the disadvantages.

You're welcome, Sherri. I hope they do well for you.

I mailed the last three boxes today. I know I had promised to do it yesterday, but we had to work the cows to get them ready for a new bull. I was too pooped to go to town afterwards. It all took longer than usual because the vet's squeeze chute wasn't working properly. The packages should arrive by Friday at the very least. Let me know when they arrive.
