I have these Elephant Ears to trade:
colocasia Black Stem - several, every size you can imagine
colocasia Black Magic - several
colocasia Illustris - several
xanthosoma atrovirens 'Variegatum Monstrosum' (Mickey Mouse) -several, one 2-3 feet tall
xanthosoma Sagittifolia - several, various sizes
alocasia Honduras - I'm 90% sure of the ID - a very rare plant
alocasia macrorrhizos variegated - several
Here's what I'm looking for:
Time release balanced fertilizer, like Osmocote 14-14-14, or Vigoro 17-17-17
Water soluble fertilizer with minor elements
Water soluble bloom booster fertilizer
Paw Paw Everlast Plant Labels - I prefer size 'E', Rose Markers
3 inch to 4 inch nursery pots
I can't trade for plants - nowhere to put them
Please, no trades for postage right now
Steve
Have Several Elephant Ears
Steve -
I would be interested in a few of your alocasia - I have 6" inch nursery pots - would that work for you?
Sherri
Sherri,
Sorry, I have a ton of 6" pots. I wanted them smaller because I want to mail them.
Steve
Steve - I just checked a new location in my house and found an entire stack of the 3". How many do you need? I have 24 of them :)
These are the plants I was interested in:
colocasia Illustris
xanthosoma atrovirens 'Variegatum Monstrosum' (Mickey Mouse)
xanthosoma Sagittifolia - several, various sizes
alocasia Honduras
alocasia macrorrhizos variegated
Sherri
Sherri,
To be honest, it would cost me more to ship ears to you than it would to buy 24 pots. I'm sorry - I'm not trying to be a wise guy, or cheap, but I trade a lot, and once in a while I run into this situation. The postage costs more than it would to just buy what I'm looking for.
I was looking for a higher quantity, like 100 pots. Maybe another time. Thanks for making the offer.
Steve
i would love the xanthosoma atrovirens 'Variegatum Monstrosum' (Mickey Mouse
i can go to lowes tomorrow and get you some osmicote and bloom buster fertilizer
wait i might already have some let me go see brb
moretz
Moretz,
Yes, that'll work. What other ears wold you like, besides the MM?
Steve
NOTE:
The Mickey Mouse are gone, sorry. Other ears are still available.
Steve
welllllllll what do the others look like? any pics?
the multicote is 17-17-17 is that ok?
Steve,
I probably have 100 of the small 3 or 4 inch pots if you still have these available.
Let me know.
jane
Jane - I just traded for 100 of them. I have a couple of alocasias that are in 5 gallon pots, and they're pot-bound. I need to find larger pots for them. Do you have any?
Steve
I think I just might.....let me check in the morning and I'll get back with ya.
Jane
Hetty,
You ship them in styrofoam cups? I hadn't thought of that - it sounds like it would work great! The only problem is, the root system on EEs is large, even when they're very young. I can't ship them in 3" pots - not enough soil.
Remember the plumie I broke a few weeks back? Boy, has it ever come back! I didn't expect this. I imagine it will be flowering before very long. I stuck the broken tip in the soil, as you suggested. It's a little hard to see here, but it has vegetation growing out of it.
Steve
To all,
The Mickey Mouse and alo mac variegated are gone, but I still have all the others. I have a need for 2 large pots - 20 or 25 gallon would be great. I'm going away on Tuesday, for a week, coming back July 3rd.
Steve
Steve, I can send you whatever size pots you need in any quantity needed; most are black, some are red or blue. Tell me what you want & I'll mail them while you're on vacation, then you can respond with whatever size/type/quantity of EEs seems appropriate. I'll love & grow any & all.
Sound good?
I also have lots of fertilizer from Gardens Alive as well as Watersorb crystals & Messenger stimulant if you use those.
