Look what I found today at a nursery!!! Which one is it?
:) Donna
Which variegated Brug?
WOW! Thats some find for a nursery. I don't know which it is but it sure looks healthy!
Enjoy!

Hmmm? My guess would be Maya?
Looks to be in great shape. Nice find.
Thanks! I was thinking it was Maya, but could it be Miner's Claim? Can you tell the difference in the leaves without it blooming?
:) Donna
I had two unrooted Mayas that both died on me over the winter and now I have Snowbank. There is a huge difference in the leaves. Snowbank's leaves are thick and fuzzy, very soft, and Maya would be thin and feels smooth.
Miner's Claim and Snowbank are both patented brugs, and if you buy them, they are "supposed" to come from an "authorized" dealer with documentation that they are patented.
Hope that helps a little!
Yeah, that's what I was gonna say about it being patented... I also think Miner's Claim has more white than your photo shows.. I have Maya and it looks a lot like your photo. I loved her dearly last year, and to have her survive our freaky 10 day freeze was a real treat.
Sunset is sometimes believed to be the same as Maya. Either way, you do have a gorgeous brug there. :)
I don't know, Teresa. I'm going to keep everything crossed so it will bloom....lol. Your Sunset is very healthy! If I have a different plant, maybe we can do a trade?
:) Donna
Donna, without a doubt - we can do a trade! We're both in Canada, so that would be super easy!
Donna,
I bought this Brug in the Summer of 2005 at a Flower mart street fair. It was in a 4" pot and about 7"-8" tall. The grower that sold it to me called it "Peach Parfait".
I consulted Shirley and she said it was, most likely, a Maya. I trust Brugie's advice--100%! Last summer it had grown nicely and bloomed towards the end of summer. The blooms were creamy white when they started out and in a few days, they started turning a pastel peach--then a darker peach. They were beautiful. I will post a picture below.
This is of the blooms just opened.
This Brug was the only one I saved in my basement in a dormant state.
Too it out this Spring. kept it shaded for about a week or so. Then it went out to it's permanent spot in full morning light.
In it's dormancy, it only had a few measly leaves on top of the stems. When I put it in the AM sun, it just took off and never blinked. It has no buds on it yet, but it sure is growing well.
This picture was taken just today. I did not re pot it or anything.
Gita
Gita, thank you for posting your pictures. The blooms are awesome! I hope mine will bloom this summer. I'm going to feed it like crazy!!
:) Donna
Beautiful, Fred!
Don't trust Brugie's advice, Gita. It could be a Peaches & Cream. LOL! From what I can see in your picture, it looks very versicolor. Nodding blooms would make it something other than Peaches & Cream. Those blooms look pretty vertical to me.

Shirley,
Were you addressing the above response to ME--or to TriFred?
If it was me--are you saying it is NOT a Maya?
Hmmmmmmm....Gita
I was joking to you, Gita. However, I'm not an expert and when you wrote me with the question, neither of us had seen blooms. Looking at the pictures you have posted, it's very possible that you have a Peaches & Cream. The reason I'm using that name is because I've not heard of the one you said it was called when you bought it. Maybe someone else here would have some insight on this.

Shirley,
I think the guy that grew it just called it "Peach Parfait" because he may have not been sure of the real name. I sent him an e-mail after you ID'd it as a Maya, and he wrote me back and said that he has been growing this for 6 years and always called it "Peach Parfait".
You know the old saying: "A Rose is a Rose by any other name". Well! Maybe so is a Peach Brug.
I will send you pictures when it blooms this year so you can ID it for sure.
:o))) Gita
