We got a pool last year and Ginger is afraid to go swimming. And if one of us goes in, she stands at the edge and frantically barks.
Last year (I haven't swum yet this year (is swum a word?)) I was swimming and I felt something touch me and I look up and it's Ginger. She jumped in two more times to save me.
All this is pretty odd since a few years ago, I was at my friends pool and she was swimming out to me and not anxious at all.
My family and I have held her and waded with her in our pool, nice and calm but it didn't seem to help.
I would really like for her to swim because she doesn't get enough exercise, she gets really hot outside and because I think she's enjoy it once she gets over what ever she has about swimming. Also, poodles were used as water dogs once upon a time so I thought she would take to it.
Any ideas?
