WANTED : Horsetail (Equisetum)

Philadelphia, PA(Zone 6b)

Horsetail Equisetum Hyemale, reedlike stalk/grass wanted for trade. Have many things to offer. Typically grows at water's edge in milder climates. Equisetum is actually considered an invasive weed so many of you out there may have it and actually want to get rid of it. : )

Happy to trade for a variety of things I have to offer.

A pic of it for reference, is below.

I have lots.......it's a bit of a pain to dig, but any part of it roots well...I am looking for any named tall bearded iris that I dont already have

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Timmy, Equisetum arvense grows in the wild here, and, as you mentioned, is a terrible weed in the garden. The root system is connected, and the plants just pop off at the stem or root when pulled out. If you are interested, I will try to find some in a soft soil bed, but transplanting could be difficult. They wilt pretty fast, as I recall. Perhaps the dampened roots would be best.

Olathe, KS(Zone 6a)

I am planning to plant this and wonder about maintenance. I know it is evergreen (ish) in my zone (7), and some of the stalks will turn red in winter. But do I cut it down in the spring like a grass...thin it as I would a bamboo..feed it how. Any help would be appreciated.
