Hope you folks will excuse a question from a real novice. I've been growing AVs in the double ceramic pots, i.e. water goes in the bottom of the outer pot, inner pot is unglazed on bottom and lower sides to allow water absorption. Color is bleached out in the photo, but this plant, though a NOID, does really well for me; at the moment it has three bloom clusters. As you can see, it will soon need repotting again, but I've not seen double pots larger than this one. I'm reluctant to mess with a system that works, especially since I'm such a novice; does anyone know a source for larger double pots? Any help/advice welcome, and thanks very much.

Source for a large double pot?
Hiya Ruth Welcome to the forum!!
You are a grower after my heart...I love NOIDS and self watering pots... so here's some info.
You don't have to buy a new pot you can just repot that one after it's finished blooming back into the same pot but with fresh soil. The it will continue as you have been growing it.
There's a few links in the "stickies" that show you how to repot etc...I'll try to grab a few links & post them here. for you to see.
If you really want to get bigger pots then you can find some at Lowe's & home depot sometimes. You can also do an Internet search for African Violet Self watering pots... it will bring up a handful of sellers.
Ebay always has 20 or so of every size....some can get really pricey...I know...lol
There are of course other ways to grow them, too but I'll let some of the other folks tell you about that.
Good growing,
MsC
Hi, MsC, and thanks for the reply and welcome! I'm honestly worried less about soil renewal than about overcrowding. It's hard to see in the photo, but many of the plant's leaves are standing vertical rather than horizontal; so I figured the pot was getting too tight. After blooming, I usually apply Houseplants Alive from Gardens Alive and that seems to revitalize the soil pretty well, at least for a while. I've tried Lowe's and Home Depot, but haven't found a larger pot. Will definitely try your suggestions of a google search and ebay; I'm convinced you can find anything on ebay, though the prices are sometimes prohibitive. Thanks again for your help!
Hi Ruth ; ) Your plant is so pretty. It actually looks like you have more than one crown on your av. It could easily be divided and you could put one back into that same pot and the other(s) in a new one.
Might want to wait until it's done blooming. ; )
Good luck!
Cheryl
Hi, Cheryl, and thanks for replying. I've thought of dividing the av, but am held back by several things: 1)haven't the slightest clue how it's done, and really really don't want to trash a plant that does so well, and 2) this plant honestly rarely stops blooming. By the time one bloom cluster is spent, another is in bud. I'm not complaining, mind you (not at all), but it makes it tough to find a good time to fuss with the plant. The last time I moved it to a larger pot is only a few months back, and it set new buds almost immediately. Have no idea what the plant's ID is, but wish my outdoor garden plants were half as vigorous!
If you go to Garden Watchdog, you'll find more sources for AV supplies http://davesgarden.com/gwd/advanced.php?category=146&submit=Go including vendors who sell all sorts of 2 piece self watering pots.
Thanks again!
