Variegated Brug Seedling

Clermont, FL(Zone 9b)

This spring when I was potting up seedlings I noticed I had a variegated one in the mix. It was from a KBS x Ludger's Summer Dream cross I obtained from Gary Morales. It is now going on two months old and has maintained its variegation. The picture below shows the plant in a 3 gallon pot. It will be fun seeing what happens as the plant matures.

I have had some of the "monkey" crosses, of which Ludgers Summer Dream is one, produce white seedlings which eventually died due to lack of the ability to produce chlorophyll. This is the first seedling however that shows a variegation of the leaves that I have ever produced from a cross. If people don't realize it, this is EXTREMELY rare. Usually variegated brugs are cloned from sports which pop up on regular colored brugs. The growth of a variegated seedling is very rare. Good luck with it Fred!!!
